SOS Health Foundation today launched the very first Pro Bono Physiotherapy Clinic in Melbourne CBD, partnering with the Salvos Project 614. This exciting ‘pilot’ program is located in the Salvos building – 69 Bourke Street, Melbourne and provides access to healthcare that is now available to the many people who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, and people who are suffering from social poverty.
Staffed by volunteer physios, SOS is providing a range of physio services which are already having an impact. In his speech this morning, Major Brendan Nottle (Salvation Army Melbourne Project 614) stated that he is already seeing the benefits to clients who are using the service; seeing the difference that pain relief can make; seeing a client who had suffered for a prolonged period, walking around with a smile on his face.
This Launch was a celebration of the clinical services that are available to all in need. Because People Matter!
